Press Release: Search starts for next President of European Research Council

The European Commission has appointed seven experts to conduct the search for the next president of the European Research Council (ERC), the European Union's frontier science funding agency. The committee will be led by Lord Sainsbury of Turville, Chancellor of the University of Cambridge and a former British science minister. The committee will make recommendations to the European Commission in time for the next ERC president to take up duties on 1 January 2014, as successor to the current president Helga Nowotny.
