Press Release: General Affairs Council meeting, Brussels, 11 March 2013

The Council examined draft conclusions for the European Council to be held on 14 and 15 March, and discussed preparations for the meeting with President Herman Van Rompuy.
It agreed on the strengthening of conditions for action by EU customs authorities with regard to the enforcement of intellectual property rights. A draft regulation provides for a simplified procedure for the destruction of counterfeit and pirated goods, for instance.
