Abysmal turnout in Croatia’s EU vote

On 14 April 2013 Croatia elected Members of the European Parliament for the first time, but just 21% of voters bothered to cast ballots.

The 12 victorious candidates will take their seats for one year after the Balkan nation becomes the newest member of the European Union on 1 July 2013.
