A meeting between Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos concluded on the 6 November 2013 with reports suggesting that the two men agreed that negotiations between the government and Greece’s lenders, known as the troika, should be concluded soon in an effort to restore a sense of stability in the country.

BBC News and other sources also reported that on the 6 November 2013 workers in Greece held a 24-hour general strike over continuing cuts as international lenders decided whether to unlock further bailout money.
