Press Release: State aid: Commission opens in-depth inquiry into UK financing for small and medium enterprises

The European Commission on 20 November 2013 opened an in-depth investigation to examine whether a UK scheme allowing publicly-backed funds to invest in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is being implemented in line with EU state aid rules. The opening of an in-depth investigation gives interested third parties the possibility to comment on the measure under assessment. It does not prejudge the outcome of the investigation.
