As announced by the Commission on 16 September 2011 in its Communication on strengthening Schengen governance and supported by the Council on 8 March 2012, the Commission submits biannual reports to the European Parliament and to the Council on the functioning of the Schengen area.

This fourth report covers the period 1 May-31 October 2013.
