Press Release: Iran: EU suspends certain sanctions as Joint Plan of Action enters into force

As part of the implementation of the Joint Plan of Action agreed by Iran and the E3/EU+3, which entered into force on 20 January 2014, the Council suspended certain EU restrictive measures against Iran for a period of six months. By putting the sanctions relief in place, the EU implemented its part of the first step towards a comprehensive solution to address concerns about the Iranian nuclear programme.
