Serbian police arrest high-profile drug lord

Darko Šarić, head of a network that smuggled drugs from Latin America to the Balkans and EU countries, was arrested on the 18 March 2014 in a joint operation between Serbian and Montenegrin authorities.

According to EurActiv, the operation might boost Serbia’s credentials in law enforcement as the country began accession talks.
