French Prime Minister Manuel Valls outlined a series of tax and budget cuts during a speech before parliament on the 8 April 2014. EurActiv noted that Europe was barely mentioned during the speech. Mr. Valls won a confidence vote after presenting a raft of new policies designed to pull France out of the economic doldrums. According to The Local.fr and other news sources France laid out on the 23 April 2014 a new package of economic reforms to respect EU rules, cut spending, boost jobs and put its economy in shape to compete on world markets. |
