Polish FM nominated for top EU foreign policy role

Poland confirmed on the 28 May 2014 that it would nominate its Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski to become the new High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Catherine Ashton, the first High Representative, from 2014-2019, had already ruled out standing for a second term.
