Centre-right GERB party ahead after Bulgaria election

Reports and analysis of the results of the general election in Bulgaria held on the 5 October 2014.

The centre-right GERB party of ex-Prime Minister Boyko Borissov achieved a winning margin in the election, according to official results. However, the party fell short of an absolute majority.

The two centre-right political forces in Bulgaria agreed a coalition agreement on 6 November to form a minority government, supported by a small centre-left party, and a nationalist force.
