Press Release: European Parliament elects Juncker Commission / European Council appoints the new Commission

Members of the European Parliament approved the new college of 27 Commissioners, as presented by its President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker on the 22 October 2014, with 423 votes in favour, 209 against and 67 abstentions.

The European Council appointed the new European Commission for the period from 1 November 2014 to 31 October 2019 on the 23 October 2014.
