Albania's prime minister made an official visit to Serbia in November 2014, a first in seven decades. The two sides hoped the occasion to open a more harmonious chapter in their relations. However, the meeting between prime ministers resulted in a public row over the status of Kosovo. Visibly angered leaders highlighted their irreconcilable positions on the independence of the region. This visit was initially supposed to have taken place a month earlier but then postponed due to an incident during a football match between both countries. |
