Reforming Financial Markets III: Credit Ratings Agencies – Commons Library Standard Note

This note focuses upon new rules which have been applied to credit ratings agencies since the financial crash of 2008. CRAs are now authorised by a central European agency the European Securities and Markets Authority which has developed rules covering the methodology used by CRAs, their governance and IT reliability.
