Press Release: Commission helps bring Europe’s best innovations to the market

The 59 grants were announced on 5 February 2015 as a part of the second round of the ERC Proof of Concept competition. The budget for the whole call was €18 million. In total, 442 applications had been submitted in that call; a 51% increase in comparison to the previous competition.
With the support of the European Research Council (ERC) "Proof of Concept" grants, 59 researchers in Europe were enabled to to turn their inventions into viable products.
