As the situation in Syria had been deteriorating, the Council reinforced EU restrictive measures against sponsors of the Syrian regime on 6 March 2015.

7 persons and 6 entities providing support to the Syrian regime as well as benefitting from it were targeted with a travel ban and an EU asset freeze.
