The European Commission published new figures on 23 March 2015, showing that in 2014, nearly 2500 products, ranging from toys to motor vehicles, were either stopped before they entered the European Union (EU) or removed from markets because they were dangerous for EU consumers.

The European Commission and EU Member States use the Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products - that ensures that consumer good on the European markets are safe.
