Press Release: Advocate General’s Opinion in Case C-67/14 Jobcenter Berlin Neu köln v Nazifa, Sonita, Valentina and Valentino Alimanovic

The European Court of Justice's Advocate General’s Opinion in Case C-67/14 Jobcenter Berlin Neu köln v Nazifa, Sonita, Valentina and Valentino Alimanovic was announced on 26 March 2015.

According to Advocate General Melchior Wathelet, European Union citizens who travel to a Member State of which they are not nationals in order to seek employment may be excluded from entitlement to certain social benefits.

The opinion is not binding until confirmed by the full European Court of Justice, but it builds on a previous decision by the court in another case around the same subject.
