US paratroopers’ arrival in Ukraine raises heckles in Moscow

The United States army confirmed on 17 April 2015 hundreds of its elements had arrived in Ukraine to train this country's military forces fighting pro-Russian rebels in the east. Russia warned that such a move could further destabilise the region.

On 13 April 2015, an assessment of the ceasefire called by the Minsk Agreement had taken place, pointing to a calmer situation on the ground.
