Ireland's government accused the European Union's statistical agency Eurostat of being 'grossly erroneous' after it ruled that Irish Water was not a market agency and should be counted on the state's balance sheet. In a letter to the Irish Central Statistic's Office (CSO), the government insisted that the water utility was a free standing company and therefore not under the government's control. |
