On 7 September 2015 the European Commission provided an additional €1 million in funding so that children orphaned and affected by Ebola receive education and psychosocial support. The amount is part of the overall funding of €11 million allocated in 2015 for educational projects in conflict areas under the EU Children of Peace initiative.
