Formula One's Sauber and Force India teams announced they had filed a complaint with European Union authorities about what they see as unfair and 'unlawful' practices in the competition's governance and distribution of revenues. A spokesperson from the European Commission confirmed it on 29 September 2015.

These teams are two of the smallest competing teams, next to rivals with far greater resources. The complaint came at a delicate time for Formula One, with several teams struggling to stay afloat while a major rules revamp was being discussed for 2017.
