Competitiveness Council, 30 November 2015

A meeting of the Competitiveness Council took place on 30 November and 1 December 2015. The following topics were discussed:

+ The new internal market strategy unveiled by the European Commission;

+ Better regulation agenda and how it can improve the functioning of the internal market;

+ Competitiveness check-up, including an exchange of views regarding the relationship between the state of the internal market integration and the external competitiveness of the European Union, as well as the presentation of a report on the state of play and outlook with regard to the competitiveness mainstreaming

+ European Research Area (ERA), which included de adoption of conclusions on research integrity, gender equality in the ERA and ERA governance.

+ Discussion on the ways in which the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) can boost research and innovation.
