Italian diplomat takes over at UN refugee agency

Filippo Grandi was announced in January 2015 as the new United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees.

Mr Grandi took up the position at a time of 'unprecedented displacement challenges' with record numbers of people fleeing war during the past year, according to a UNHCR statement.
