Another Mitsotakis to lead Greece’s New Democracy

Greek politician Kyriakos Mitsotakis, son of a former prime minister, beat the odds on 10 January 2016 to become the leader of Greece's conservative New Democracy party after winning a nationwide vote.

Mr Mitsotakis pledged to realign the party towards the political centre, but he also promised to work with cadres of the party's nationalist right-wing faction who helped get him elected.
