A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held on 18-19 April 2016 in Luxembourg. Its conclusions included the following items: + Discussion on the external dimension of migration; + Discussion on the European Union's regional strategy for Syria and Iraq and for the Da'esh threat; + Briefing on the EU's relations with its Eastern partners, with a focus on the best ways to take forward the Eastern Partnership, ahead of the ministerial meeting in May 2016; + Discussion on how to counter hybrid threats to increase the resilience of the EU and its partner countries (the debate took place on the basis of a framework presented by the European Commission); + Capacity building in support of security and development and CSDP operations. |
