Volkswagen, emissions and the ‘crisis spiral’

Can Volkswagen survive the emissions scandal - which saw the group admitting in September 2015 that it had allowed 'cheat' devices to be used in US emissions tests – was just the start of the downfall of one of the world’s largest car manufacturers.

Can it now pull through - or even in the longer term benefit if it forces the company to move more rapidly into the era of electric mobility and services?
