Austria’s highest court overturns presidential runoff

In a ruling announced on the 1 July 2017 Austria's Constitutional Court called for a re-run of the 2016 presidential election.

The court upheld a challenge brought by the far-right Freedom Party (FPOe) against its candidate Norbert Hofer's narrow defeat in the second round of the presidential election on the 22 May 2016
