Statement by Commissioner Andriukaitis on the political agreement reached on the EU proposal for revision of the provisions on official controls along the food chain

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union reached an informal agreement on 16 June 2016 regarding a proposal which reviews legislation on official controls.

This proposal is part of a legislative package which includes additional major reviews to modernise the animal health, plant health and plant reproductive materials legislation, and a proposal managing expenditure by the European Commission to simplify the previous complex provisions.
