Press Release: Council statement on the ratification of the Paris Agreement

The Council of the European Union adopted on 20 June 2016 a statement on the ratification of the Paris Agreement, the global legally-binding agreement on climate change adopted in December 2015.

Media reported later in the year that the inability of the member states to agree on an effort-sharing deal could delay the ratification of the Paris Agreement until late 2017.
