Eurogroup meeting, 9 September 2016

A meeting of the Eurogroup was held on 9 September 2016. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Discussion on the progress made by Greece in achieving the milestones agreed in its financial assistance programme;

+ Thematic discussion on how government spending reviews can help improve the quality of public finances in the euro area member states;

+ Informal talks ahead of the forthcoming assessment of the euro area's draft budgetary plans;

+ Discussion on issues related to the Stability and Growth Pact, as well on the situation following decisions on the excessive deficit procedure regarding Portugal and Spain.
