Statement by the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini on the announcement of an agreement between the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP on a definitive and final peace agreement

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy released on 25 August 2016 a statement on the occasion of a peace agreement between the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP.

On behalf of the EU, the High Representative also reassured to provide all support to the implementation of the peace, as it had already been promised during a visit to Colombia in May.

A spokesperson confirmed in on 26 September that the European Union could remove FARC from its list of known terrorists as a result of the agreement.
