State of the Union 2016: Strengthening European Investments for jobs and growth

On the occasion of his State of the Union speech on 14 September 2016, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker set out the plans to further boost investment to support jobs and sustainable growth, both in Europe and globally. The Commission therefore proposed:

+ the extension of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), at the heart of its Investment Plan for Europe;

+ to set up a European External Investment Plan (EIP), aiming to encourage investment in Africa and the EU Neighbourhood.
