The European Court of Justice ruled on 15 November 2016 that the exclusion of candidates more than 35 years of age from a competition for the recruitment of police officers required to perform operational duties is compative with EU law. The Court considered that the possession of particular physical abilities constitutes a genuine and determining occupational requirement for such police officers. |
