Russia decides to deploy missiles in Kaliningrad

Media reported in November 2016 that Russia had decided to deploy S-400 surface-to-air missiles and nuclear-capable Iskander systems in the exclave of Kaliningrad. This was seen as a retaliation for NATO expansion in the region, although no explicit connection was made by authorities.

Russia had previously said it periodically sends Iskanders to Kaliningrad, but only as routine drills.
