Crunch time in Catalonia: why Spain needs a constitutional overhaul

Catalonia's illegal referendum in October 2017 resulted in a constitutional crisis in Spain. Madrid needed to urgently revise the country's model of regional government. Spain needed to find ways to better satisfy the hunger for self-determination in some parts of the country. The only way to do that is to change the constitution.
