Further information: On 28 March anti-terrorism raids started across Italy. The main cities involved were Milan, Modena, Bergamo, Naples, Turin, Foggia and the capital Rome. Italian police arrested a 23-year-old man of Moroccan origin in Turin. He was planning attacks for the Islamic State. Police also arrested a man in Foggia, accused of teaching children violent interpretations of Islam. Moreover, five people, believed to have connections to the Tunisian Isis militant Anis Amri that killed 12 people at a Berlin Christmas market in 2016, were arrested on 29 March. On 28 and 29 March 2018 Italian anti-terror police arrested people suspected to be connected to ISIS. |
