The EU Aid Volunteers initiative was established in 2014. The initiative’s objective is to help strengthen the EU’s capacity to provide needs-based humanitarian aid and to help increase the capacity and resilience of vulnerable or disaster-affected communities in third countries, while giving European citizens an opportunity to be involved in humanitarian action in third countries, showing solidarity with people in need.
