Resolution on EU-NATO relations

Summary:

The European Parliament's plenary session endorsed on 13 June 2018 a Resolution put forward by the Foreign Affairs Committee on the relations between NATO and the European Union (EU).

MEPs highlight that neither organisation hold a full range of tools to address new security challenges, mostly of hybrid nature. The resolution calls for EU-NATO ties to focus on strategic communication, counter-terrorism, situational awareness, sharing classified information, stemming irregular migration and removing obstacles to the swift movement of military personnel and assets within the European Union.
