Summary: The European Ombudsman published in August 2018 the annual report covering the activities of her office for the year 2017. Further information: Access to EU documents, and related transparency cases, continued to account for the greatest proportion of inquiries in 2017. Given that access to document requests are often time-sensitive, the Ombudsman decided to introduce a new Fast-Track procedure for these complaints. The year saw the Ombudsman open strategic inquiries and initiatives into a number of other key issues, and make a set of proposals and recommendations. |
