Summary: On 31 May 2018 the European Commission presented a proposal for a Decision regarding the mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) to provide assistance to Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania and Poland. The proposal was accompanied by a Draft Amending Budget that proposed to enter the necessary appropriations in the general budget for 2018. The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted a Decision on 12 September 2018. The Amending Budget was also adopted. Further information: The proposed Decision covered the mobilisation of the EUSF for a total amount of €33,992,206 to provide assistance to Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania and Poland following disasters that took place in these countries in the course of 2017: - Bulgaria submitted an application on 11 January 2018 following flooding caused by intense rainfall and violent storms in October 2017. |
