Summary: Annual Report published in July 2018 by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), covering the year from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018. This is the seventh ESRB Annual Report. Further information: During the review period the ESRB continued its close monitoring of sources of systemic risk in the European financial system and economy, and identified four main risks to financial stability in the European Union (EU). As part of this work, the ESRB analysed developments in the commercial real estate and the non-bank financial sectors. Acknowledging the potential threat of cyber attacks, the ESRB took the initiative to form a European Systemic Cyber Group, with the aim of providing members with the opportunity to discuss ongoing policies and disseminate updates on new international initiatives. In addition, the ESRB continued to foster discussion on macroprudential policy by hosting a number of conferences and workshops. |
