Informal video conference of economic and finance ministers, 19 January 2021

Summary:

EU Ministers responsible for financial and economic matters (ECOFIN) held an informal videoconference on 19 January 2021. The agenda included the following items:

• Exchange of views on the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF);
• Presentation by the European Commission of its Communication on tackling non-performing loans (NPLs) in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the policy debate;
• Presentation by the Portuguese Council Presidency of its priorities on relevant fields;
• Exchange of views on the conclusions of the 2021 Alert Mechanism Report and the Draft Recommendation on the economic policy of the Euro area;
• Briefing on ongoing legislative work concerning proposals in the field of financial services;
• Presentation by the EIB President of the main findings of the latest EIB Investment Survey.
