Reports, analyses and information on the electoral campaign and the aftermath of the European Parliament election held in France on 26 May 2019.
The electoral campaign in France was strongly featured by the debacle between President Emmanuel Macron's pro-EU La République En Marche! (LREM), and Marine Le-Pen's Eurosceptic Rassemblement National (RN), in the framework of long-standing protests across the country relating to the emergence of the Yellow Vest movement. Pre-electoral polls suggested a tight race between the two parties, which embodied two very distinct visions for the future of the European Union (EU).
