The Council reviewed the state of bilateral relations in the framework of the Eastern Partnership and the European Neighbourhood Policy. It took stock of progress in the implementation of the EU-Ukraine association agreement.
The meeting examined the reform process in Ukraine, as part of the political dialogue and cooperation. The Council also discussed anti-corruption as well reforms of the judiciary. It addresses the economic situation and EU cooperation with Ukraine. It reviewed reforms in a number of areas, including finance, energy, health and education.
The Council also discussed bilateral trade and the implementation of the deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA).
In addition, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman discussed developments related to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as regional issues.
The fourth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council was held on 8 December 2017.
