Summary:

5G is expected to add up to €1 trillion to the European GDP between 2021 and 2025, with the potential to create or transform up to 20 million jobs across all sectors of the economy. We observed that delays are putting at risk the achievement of the EU’s objectives for 5G deployment and that further efforts are necessary to address security issues. This report makes a number of recommendations to the European Commission aimed at pushing forward the timely and concerted implementation of secure 5G networks in the European Union.
