The recent enlargement of the EU places the responsibility upon business leaders to appraise themselves of the opportunities or threats this process might present for their business. This book seeks to help them with that by providing an objective assessment of each of the Accession States.
Part 1 consists of an overview looking at economic, political, and social aspects. Part 2 contains individual country studies - Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Each country study covers four topics - The Road to EU Membership, The Investment Climate, Tax and Accounting, and The Banking and Financial Sector. Part 3 contains key facts relating to each of the featured countries, followed by an Appendix giving key economic indicators.
The work will be useful to potential investors, companies seeking new markets and anyone with an interest in the future of Europe.
