The Parliamentary Assembly of the 41-member Council of Europe has invited the European Union and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to enter into negotiations without delay in order to enable the Union to accede to the European Convention on Human Rights as soon as possible. The European Union treaties and the European Convention on Human Rights should be amended accordingly. |
