A dictionary of the European Union

Book abstract:

This dictionary aims to give a comprehensive overview of the development and current status of the European Union. The dictionary has over 1000 entries including information such as: explanations of complex EU terminology; the role of EU institutions; profiles of Member States and people who have played prominent roles in the EU; accounts of historical and current issues; outlines of the significance of treaties; programmes and policies; and definitions of acronyms and abbreviations.

The dictionary is clearly laid out and contains cross-references in bold to other relevant entries. The book has been compiled by experts in the field of EU affairs and is suited to the academic community. David Phinnimore and Lee McGowan are Lecturers at the Institute of European Studies, the Queen's University of Belfast.
