Karl Marx's theory of history suggests that the outcome of the 2015 general election will not determine the United Kingdom's relationship with the EU. It will not matter if a Labour or a Conservative government is in power. The current pro-membership coalition of multinational firms, half of the Conservative party, Labour and most of the smaller parties, bar UKIP, will weaken unless the Eurozone returns to economic growth and prosperity. At the same time, working people will remain hostile to high levels of immigration from EU countries with high unemployment
